Thomas E. "Tom" Turk, age 81, died on July 10, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by his family and loved ones. Tom was born on February 17th, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio to his parents, Earl and Lillian Turk. He graduated from Bowling Green University and received his degree in law from Cleveland Marshall Law School in June of 1965. He was a well-respected trial lawyer and also served as Ohio Assistant Attorney General from 1973 to 1981 under William Brown. Tom was admitted to appeal before the United States Supreme Court, and the Ohio Supreme Court. He also practiced law before the Northern District Court of Ohio, The Southern District Court of Ohio and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. After leaving the Attorney General's office, he took over his father's Dairy Queen business and was a territory operator until retirement in 2008. Tom is survived by his beloved partner of 30 years, Rita Murphy; his son, Michael Turk and daughter, Cathy Bradshaw, both of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Conner Turk, Carly (Bobby) Turk, Paige Bradshaw, Dylan Bradshaw, and Chelsea (Doug) Ross; great-grandchildren, Ava, Sloan, and Ellery Ross. Tom was preceded in death by his previous wife, Joan M. Turk and his son, Christopher T. Turk. Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at 12 pm at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 East Schrock Road, Westerville, Ohio, with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Cheryl Peterson officiating. Private interment.

Cathy, I am so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I just saw the write up in the Westerville News that came yesterday, or I would have come to the visitation to give you a big hug.
