It is with deep sorrow that we impart the passing of Carol Jean Sauer on May 16, 2018. She was born on November 29th,1941 to the late Gustave and Ruby Volpe. Stilettos, stained fingertips, piercing green eyes, you would never forget. Wife, mother, grandmother, friend, hair stylist, animal lover, avid reader, music lover, and phenomenal cook. The world will forever be quieter without the wonder and resounding laughter of Carol Jean Sauer. Carol was lucky in love when she found George. A love truer than most will ever know. A highly talented hair stylist for over 40 years, the list of clients could go on for days, with personal connections and roots as deep as families. For those that loved to see her and what she could do, the time in the chair was not just a chance to change their hair, but their day, with Carols infectious cackle and sharp sense of humor. Her family often joked that she missed her true calling as an animal shelter owner. All that loved her know that there was never an end to the animals that surfaced upon her Facebook feed as the, Share Queen, of all the lost and found. Carol Sauer is survived by her loving husband, George Sauer; children, Theresa Blahnik (Steve), Mark Marsh (Donna), Angela Baumann, Steve Sauer (Linda), Rebecca Benjamin, Theresa Sauer, Michelle Barford, (Larry), Michael Sauer (Vicki), Scott Sauer (Diana); 30 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, nieces; Michelle Doke, Julie Bryant, and great nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Her family will always be missing a piece never to be fulfilled by anything but her heart-stopping sneeze, warm hugs, and quiet wisdom. We find comfort in her reuniting with those preceding her in death, her parents, Gustave and Ruby Volpe, son Robert Marsh Jr, and grandson Max Baumann. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday May 25, 2018, at St. Paul Catholic Church 313 N State St, Westerville, OH 43082. A Celebration Of Life is planned for Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. E Side Brethren Church 7510 E Broad St, Blacklick, OH 43004. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Delaware County, Ohio Humane Society 4920 OH-37, Delaware, OH 43015 or the Petco Foundation 654 Richland Hills DR. San Antonio, TX 78245.

A beautiful woman and her obit is a tribute to her and the life she lived. I met Carol when we were kids, was her client for many years and while we didn't see each other often, when we did meet,It was always as if no time had passed and our conversations look off. I am so sorry for the loss felt by the family and all who knew Carol. Rest in peace Carol. .

Dear George & Family, We send you our deepest sympathy at the lose of your beloved Carol. My heart is heavy learning of her passing. She was my hair stylist for over 30 years. She was my friend. She was a "therapist" to evey client she had. We all felt like family back to the days when she had her shop in Devonshire & Gus and Ruby made us a cup of coffee while we waited for our turn to have Carol make us beautiful. Our children had their first haircuts by Carol. We live just down the street from George & Carol in our beautiful condo at Highland Lakes. Carol is the reason we live here - she encouraged us to retire here and we did. Carol was a kind, loving & compassionate woman. Her passing is the world's loss!! We will all miss her so very much. God Bless all of you during this time of sorrow! The Miles - Faye & Nelson 6524 Upper Lake Circle Westerville, OH

My deepest sympathy to George and all of the family and friends who loved Carol. I met Carol when I moved to the Highland Lakes condo development and shared with her a love of reading, especially if the story included an animal or two. She had a sparkle and joy that you couldn't help noticing and she will be dearly missed by all. My sincere condolences, Ingrid Kunovic
