Myron E. "Mike" Bogan , 98, of Westerville passed away peacefully on May 5, 2018. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mike was born on March 25, 1920 in Crawford County, Ohio to the late Frank and Bessie Bogan. He graduated from North Robinson High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University. After college, Mike served during WW ll as a special agent for the Army Counter Intelligence Corps. He did surveillance activity and under cover work both in the U.S. and overseas. Mike married his high school sweetheart, Ethel Hocker in 1947. Mike was employed by Nationwide Insurance for nearly 37 years. He retired as Director of Reinsurance Claims and Legal. During his employment at Nationwide he earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Capital Law School. Mike was also a member of the adjunct faculty at Franklin University and a guest lecturer at Ohio State. He was a charter member of Excess/Surplus Lines Claims Association and served as President in 1982 as well as being on the Board of Directors for a number of years. After his retirement, Mike and Ethel moved back to Crawford County living there for 20 years before moving back to Westerville to be near their family. Preceded in death by loving wife, Ethel and brothers, Ralph and James. Survived by his children, Larry (Carol) Bogan of Galena, OH, Richard (Paula) Bogan of Celina, TX and Carol (Scott) Livingston of Westerville, OH. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Rd, Westerville, OH on Thursday May 10th from 5-7pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North Robinson, OH on Friday May 11th. Family will receive friends at the church starting at 10:00am, followed by the service at 11:00am. Interment at Memory Gardens. The family wishes to thank the caring staff at The Village at Westerville.
