Wayne B. Dray, 92, passed away Monday April 23, 2018 at Worthington Christian Village with his family by his side. He was born January 3, 1926 in Delphos, Ohio, a son of Ruth Irene Fryer & Samuel B. Dray who preceded him in death. His stepmother, Doris Irene Graham Dray also preceded him in death. On June 10, 1950 he married Luella Mae Watkins who survives. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol June Feathers and Gloria Ruth Watkins. He is survived by a half sister Ardith (Joe Compton) DeWitt and a half brother Mike B. Dray; daughters Karen (Paul) Grant, Westerville, Barbara (Ron) Wegesin, Dublin and Susan (Mark) Lickert, Strongsville; grandsons, Brett (Kacey) Powell, Reynoldsburg, Andy ( Lindsay) Wegesin, Dublin, Matt (Amber) Lickert, Omaha, Nebraska; granddaughters, Lindsay (Eric) Schmidt, Gahanna, Leah (Jason) Powell, Dublin and Katie Lickert, Strongsville; eight great grandchildren, Alyse & Jackson, Avery & Ellis, Landon, Elle& Penelope and Elizabeth and 1 on the way. Wayne graduated from Delphos Jefferson High School. He then immediately joined the Navy and was stationed in the Phillipines during WWII. He was discharged as a 3rd class Electricians Mate. He was an engineer for the Norfolk & Western Railroad, retiring after 40 years of faithful service. Wayne enjoyed his private pilots license and owning his own small airplane with Mae being his co-pilot. Wayne enjoyed traveling with Mae in their Airstream trailer and joining the caravans throughout the U.S., eastern Canada, western Canada, Mexico & Alaska. Wayne was a 70 year member of the Masonic Lodge; Hope Lodge # 214; Delphos Council # 72; Spencerville Chapter # 164. He was a 50 year member of St. Peter Lutheran church, Delphos, Ohio. He is currently a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Westerville, Ohio. Friends may call at Grace Lutheran Church 100 E. Schrock Rd. Westerville, Ohio Thursday 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 12:30 p.m.. A luncheon is to follow at 1:00 p.m.. Visitation Friday at Harter Schier Funeral Home, West 3rd Street, Delphos, Ohio 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service at 3:00 p.m.. at Walnut Grove Cemetery followed by a luncheon at 3:30 p.m..
