Derrell L. Althauser, age 74, of Westerville, OH, passed away April 29, 2017 in Myrtle Beach, SC. Retired from Columbia Gas after 36 years. Graduate of Westerville High School. U.S. Navy veteran. Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Bonnie; daughers, Leigh Althauser and Sherri Taylor (fiance, Mike Shattuck); grandchildren, Brittany (Kevin) Applegate and Samantha Taylor; great-grandson, Grayson Applegate; brother, Rev. Michael (Sue) Althauser; brothers-in-law, Dale Baird and Greg (Sarah) Baird; several cousins, nieces and nephew. Friends may call at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 4686 E. Walnut Street, Westerville, Thursday 10-11 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m., Pastor Jonathan Bull, officiating. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or WARM. Condolenes at

I remember Derrell from High School, class of '60. He sat in front of me in several classes. He was funny and considerate and a great classmate. May he rest in everlasting peace.
